Tyrell Jenkins
Mr. Tyrell Jenkins is the Chief Executive Officer of Baltimore Youth in Action and a board member of Eden Community Ventures Corporation. He believes that in order to create change in the world, you must first become the epitome of that change. Lastly, Mr. Jenkins believes that our society cannot effectively take on the issue of generational poverty without strong youth involvement.
Tyrell grew up on the east side of Baltimore, spending his early school life in private schools, later attending Paul Laurence Dunbar high school. In his senior year, he met his AP Psychology teacher, and future life mentor, business mentor, and business partner Mr. Sesenaya. With the help of his teacher, Tyrell was able to create an alternative career path in real estate. After graduating in 2017, he received his Real Estate License and began working at Keller Williams Metropolitan located in Canton, Baltimore.
Thinking back on his story, Tyrell realized that having a “Big Brother” to help guide him along his career path was vital, especially at such a critical juncture of his life. Together he and Osiris started Baltimore Youth in Action (BYA)–A Social Entrepreneurship Platform Designed to Mentor Young African American High School Students in Real Estate Investing and Finance– to give other high school students the same, individually tailored alternative career plan and to help push them towards the life and the careers that they envision and dreamed of.
Tyrell is currently working at Keller Williams and will be enrolling in Morgan State’s Architecture and Planning program.
